Perfect Grilled Grassfed Steak

A few simple steps for the perfect grilled steak. Don’t be afraid of the high heat and don’t skip the lemon! Can be used on any cut of steak, pictured here is one of our Flank Steaks.

Ingredients:

  • Steak (Flank, Rib Steak, Flat Iron or Sirloin are all perfect like this!)

  • coarse kosher salt

  • 1 halved lemon

  • 2 cups arugula

Directions:

  • Unwrap and defrost steak in refrigerator 1 day ahead. An hour before grilling bring to countertop and very liberally rub with kosher salt.

  • Clean and preheat grill to 450 C.

  • Place steak and halved lemons on grill. For medium rare flank grill 4 minutes on one side, flip and 3 on second side. Internal temperature 128 C

  • Remove from grill, squeeze grilled lemon 1/2 all over steak. Salt again.

  • Rest 10 minutes, slice, top with arugula and serve family style

Note: Sirloin or Ribeye will take approximately 5-6 minutes per side to medium rare. Grassfed beef will finish grilling in less time than grainfinished. Stay at the grill to watch for flare-ups on the more marbled Ribeye cuts.
