Philly Cheese Minute Steak Sandwiches

Yet another quick and delicious minute steak meal! Minute steak, already tenderized is easily sliced very thin against the grain while still partially frozen. This is a budget meal that tastes like a million bucks!

Ingredients:

2 minute steaks, sliced 1/4 inch thin strips.

2 tbsp olive oil

3 bell peppers sliced thin

1 large or 2 small onions sliced thin

1-2 cups fresh mushrooms, sliced thin (optional)

fresh cracked pepper

kosher salt

1/2 tsp dried thyme and rosemary

1 cup grated or thin slices of provolone, swiss or aged cheddar cheese (your preference)

4 medium submarine or baguette style buns

Directions

  • Slice the steak and sprinkle with sea salt. Let steak come to room temperature for 30 minutes.

  • Heat cast iron to medium, add oil and then slowly sauté the onions, peppers (and mushrooms if using)

  • Remove the veggies from pan and add the steak slices, adding thyme, rosemary and pepper. Stir fry quickly, 1-2 minutes.

  • Add the veggies back to the pan, now cover it with your cheese, letting it melt

  • Slice and grill the cut bun surface (spread with a little butter if desired to toast)

  • Prepare sandwiches by filling with the veggie and beef mix

Garnish sandwiches with pickled banana peppers and serve with green salad.
