Emerald Award Microdocumentary: Land Stewardship at Burke Creek Ranch
Last summer we were deeply honoured to share that Burke Creek Ranch had received an Emerald Award for land management.
For us, this recognition is not about a single moment — it reflects decades of thoughtful grazing, water stewardship, and commitment to improving the land year after year. As a multi-generational ranch, we believe our responsibility extends beyond livestock production. Our work is rooted in soil health, biodiversity, and ensuring this landscape remains resilient for future generations.
This award included a grant to put towards conservation projects we are working on (more on this to come!) as well as the team from Alberta Emerald Foundation and The Distillery Film co. came to the ranch in August to film this microdocumentary for us to share a glimpse of the ranch.
This short micro documentary highlights the principles that guide our ranch — careful grazing management, respect for wildlife habitat, and a belief that good ranching and environmental stewardship go hand in hand.
When you choose to purchase beef directly from Burke Creek Ranch, you are directly supporting award-winning land stewardship and regenerative practices in Alberta.
We are grateful for your support and for being part of this journey.
